Volunteer Opportunities
If you’re interested in giving back to your community through the gift of your time, we have a place for you. Join our pantry team and make a positive impact in people’s lives.

GMCFP greatly relies on our volunteers, especially in times of crisis. On top of our standard, daily, safety and hygiene processes, we have several additional measures in place to protect volunteers & staff during COVID-19.
Every day, our volunteers are making a tangible contribution to our communities. Volunteers are vital to ensuring nutritious food reaches our neighbors in need. Whether you prefer to be front and center interacting with families or working behind the scenes, we have a place for you.
Volunteer roles include:
Unloading and stocking pantry
Bagging product, dairy, breads, and pastries
Packing room responsibilities
Client food distribution
Client intake (computer skills required)
General maintenance
Retail pickups
“On call” additional duties
Initial and annual volunteer training is provided and covers topics including civil rights, safe food handling, food storage, etc.
To get started, fill out our online contact form or call Sherry at (740) 373-5741.

“I volunteer several times a week. I do it because my mother inspired me because she did so much community service-the food pantry and Women’s Home. I love it because I feel like I’m helping families who need help, and being retired, it gives me a purpose. Also, I like working with the other volunteers; we’re like a family. ”
